Description
An archaeological assessment was undertaken in 2006 at Brora, a site under threat from coastal erosion, comissioned by the SCAPE Trust, by CFA Archaeology Ltd, in partnership with The Clyne Heritage Society and Shorewatch. This work consisted of three main stages. Firstly, a desk-based analysis was conducted, which built on the work already carried out by Jacqueline Aitken and the Clyne Heritage Society. Secondly a preliminary walkover survey was conducted. The final stage was the characterisation of eroding remains. This involved detailed section recording of eroding features, a photographic survey of eording building fabric, analysis of structural elements, and a programme of soil augering to assess the extent of buried remains within the hinterland. <1>
