Full Description

What may be a farmstead comprising an unroofed building of two compartments and an enclosure is depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Ross-shire and Cromartyshire 1881, sheet xx) and on the current edition of the OS 1:10560 map (1969) with a further unroofed building. Information from RCAHMS (SAH) 13 February 1996

This site was visited during a walkover survey by C Dagg in 2008 in advance of a proposed OHL scheme. The remains of the building consisted of low rubble footings aligned north-south, to the north of which was a large sub-circular enclosure and three small enclosed areas built onto boulders or rock faces. The farmstead group was probably cleared in 1799 to make way for Davidson of Tulloch's sheep farm. It was noted that the although the features lay directly under the line of the the new OHL, they would probably remain unaffected. <1>

The enclosure referred to by the RCAHMS may be a hut circle - see MHG49727.
