NH54SE 24 5542 4145.
This well-preserved lime-kiln stands 90m ENE of the bridge carrying the Moniack to Convinth road over the Allt a' Choilich; it measures 8.2m in height, the kiln chamber having a mouth-diameter of 2.1m. Limestone may have supplied from a quarry 100m to the south.
RCAHMS 1979, visited April 1979.
The monument comprises the remains of a large, well preserved lime kiln which was built in about 1765. The base measurements on its NW side are 7.6m in width with a stoke hole 2.3m high and 2.75m wide.
It stands 8.3m high with a central shaft 2.5m in diameter and 5.0m
deep now being choked with rubbish. 125m to the south is the old lime quarry.
