Full Description

Situated on a small flat area at a break of slope on the SSW facing hillside is a hut circle, covered in grass, heather and bracken. It measures c7m diameter internally, with a low encircling grass and heather clad wall spread to c1m and a possible entrance in the ESE c2m wide. There were no obvious associated features. <1>

The hut circle was visited again during a walkover survey by J Harden in 2012 in advance of a proposed small hydro-electric scheme on the Neaty Burn. It was noted that the hut circle and it surrounds were completely covered in bracken between May and October. It lay some 150m outside the area of the proposed scheme but was the only archaeological feature in the near vicinity. <2>
