Full Description

A walkover survey in August 2009 identified the standing remains of a long building, aligned approximately N-S and located immediately north of the forest boundary fence and corresponding to the larger building recorded on the 1st edition OS map. This is built of mortared rubble and consists of two compartments. There is no trace of the smaller building which appears to have been located to the south of this. The grassy area adjacent to the buildings on the terrace above the stream is likely to have been cleared of stones and cultivated. <1>

Photos of the building, following forestry clearance, were submitted in 2010 in support of a planning application for the erection of a new house on the site. <2>
