Full Description

A ruinous post-medieval building in Staffin, Skye. It appears on the 1st Edition OS Map and so dates at latest to 1878. The stone has been robbed to almost the foundations, and its function is therefore difficult to determine. Due to its close proximity to a crofthouse (MHG56610), it is possible the building was used as a byre or storehouse, or as an earlier residence before the crofthouse was built.

A photographic record was carried out by Jamie Kirkwood in September 2013 as part of a condition on a planning application to erect a new house in the vicinity of the ruins. <1>
