Full Description

A large cone shaped grassy mound lying in the corner of a small field, seen during a rapid walkover survey by M Wildgoose in 2002 in advance of a proposed woodland creation scheme. The mound was roughly circular, about 15m in diameter and stood to 2.5m high. The northeast and south sides of the mound had been quarried for stone. These quarries were now grassed over. May be a natural feature. <1>
