Description

A walkover survey and trial trenching was undertaken by S Farrell in 2000 in advance of a proposed housing development at Armadale, Skye, the site lying in the vicinity of a number of archaeological sites. Three trenches amounting to a total area of 760m2 were machine-excavated, being a 5% sample of the area. No archaeological features or deposits were revealed. The only finds were some sherds of Victorian pottery (not retained) in the northernmost trench and which probably related to manuring. <1>
