Description

NH 533 159 Exploratory excavation and a watching brief were undertaken within the area of a hydro-electric scheme currently under construction at River E, Foyers, Loch Ness. The work was started in July 2006 in response to a planning condition and followed a desk-based assessment and walk-over survey by Stuart Farrell in 2002. No archaeologically significant finds or features have been found so far. Report to be lodged with Highland SMR and Library Service and NMRS; archive to be deposited with RCAHMS. Sponsor: RWE Npower. <1> Full, updated report on the above work. No archaeological features were affected by the watching brief work. Had excavation of a supposed structure proved it to be of non-archaeological origin. See EHG3354 for exploratory excavation record.<2>
