EHG3113 - Walkover survey of area surrounding Uamh an Eich Bhric, Fiskavaig, Isle of Skye

As part of the 2008 excavation, walkover survey was carried out over a 1 square kilometre area around the site to establish if related sites existed in the immediate landscape. Sites identified during desk-based research were also located. None of the five known sites could be said to have a direct bearing on the midden site. The walkover survey identified seven previously unrecorded sites, three of which may have a bearing on, or a direct relationship with, the Late Iron Age occupation of Uamh an Eich Bhric. These elements may represent the remains of a Late Iron Age farm comprising outfield boundary, farmhouse and elements of stock control. <1>
