Technique(s)

Organisation

AOC Archaeology Group

Date

April 2011

Description

An archaeological evaluation was conducted over the site of a proposed retail development on the outskirts of Tain. The evaluation consisted of the machine trenching of a 5% sample of the 5.5ha development area, 18 trenches in total. A single small undated pit was recorded along with a number of drainage features. Limited recording of the walls on either side of the B9174 road, which belong to Knockbreck House, was undertaken as sections of these walls may be disturbed by the development. <1><2>
