Description

This report details the results of an archaeological walkover survey on the site of a proposed development for a new house at Burnside Croft on land situated 230m SE of Achvraid, Flichity in Inverness-shire. Prior to the survey, the entire area for the new house and access track had been cleared and levelled. Twenty new archaeological sites were recorded during the survey, including the remains of three substantial buildings and seven smaller structures that may have been pens, shielings or bothies. Mitigation measures have been recommended to ensure that these sites are not compromised during development.<1>
