Date

Description

This report details the results of an archaeological walkover survey of the proposed access and pipeline routes and associated development areas for the Strathvaich Estate hydropower scheme, located southeast of Strathvaich Lodge on the Abhainn Srath a’ Bhathaich river near Garve in Ross-shire. The survey was undertaken in February 2015. Eleven archaeological sites were recorded, including one farmstead, two quarries and dam/weir structures along the river. Although buffer zones have been recommended around four of the sites, there are no concerns that the present development layout will impact upon the sites. <1>
