Date

Jan 1999

Description

Scottish Woodlands Ltd. commissioned a rapid archaeological survey of a proposed Woodland Grant Scheme application at Kinloch, Shieldaig, Torridon, Wester Ross. The purpose of the survey was to identify areas of archaeological importance in advance of the submission of detailed planting plans. The Highland Council's Sites and Monuments Record was consulted, and the 1st edition OS map was examined for evidence of land use in the last centry. This was followed by a rapid walkover survey of the area, carried out on the 17th January 1999. Conditions were wintry but visibility of features was generally good. <1>
