Description

An archaeological desk-based assessment, watching brief and walkover survey was carried out on behalf of Scottish water in respect to the replacement of the water treatment works at Lochaline, Morvern, Argyll (16/03722/FUL) on the southeast side of the B849 to the north of the village of Lochaline. An archaeological watching brief at the WTW site was carried out on 23rd to 25th January 2017. Three small charcoal rich pits were recorded during fieldwork. Due to the presence of a historic township in the development area the archaeologist also carried out a desk-based assessment and walkover survey of the proposed new pipeline route. Twelve sites related to post-medieval Knock Township were recorded. <1>
