EHG5108 - Trial Trenching - Old Cawdor Primary School, Cawdor, Nairn

An archaeological evaluation carried out at the site of Old Cawdor Primary School with respect to construction of three new houses and associated infrastructure. The evaluation was required as part of a planning requirement as the site is situated within the village of Cawdor – a designated Outstanding Conservation Area because of its historic associations and traditional estate architecture. Fieldwork was carried out on October 16th 2017. 11 trenches were excavated across the site and no archaeological remains were uncovered. <1>
