EHG5539 - Desk-based assessment - proposed Beinn Mheadhonach Wind Farm

Date

2018

Description

A desk-based assessment to inform an environmental statement for the proposed Beinn Mheadhonach Wind Farm was carried out by CFA archaeology in 2018. Twenty-nine heritage assets were identified. The potential for the discovery of previously unknown buried archaeology was considered to be moderate to low. It was considered that potential direct impacts upon cultural heritage assets could arise from any groundbreaking works carried out as a result of the construction of the proposed wind farm, and other associated activities, such as vehicle movements and overburden storage. Mitigation measures were proposed to offset any potential predicted direct impacts on heritage assets as a result of the construction of the proposed development. It was concluded that the proposed development would not have a significant indirect (operational) effect upon the setting of any heritage assets within the wider area and that no significant cumulative effects would result from the construction of the proposed development in combination with other windfarm developments. <1>
