Description

An archaeological watching brief was carried out by AOC Archaeology Group in 2019 during the construction of a new canal control building by Tomnahurich swing bridge, Caledonian Canal, Inverness. Fieldwork was carried out intermittently between 30th May and 14th June 2019. Monitoring was conducted during the excavation of a soakaway, sewage pipe trench, surface water soakaway and a water pipe trench. One archaeological feature, a possible fire-pit or midden-pit, was identified. <1>
