EHG5631 - Trial trenching - proposed housing, Cromlet Park, Invergordon

Technique(s)

Organisation

AOC Archaeology Group

Date

Nov-Dec 2021

Description

An archaeological evaluation was carried out by AOC Archaeology Group in 2021 at Cromlet Park in Invergordon in advance of a proposed housing development. A total of fourteen trenches were excavated. The evaluation uncovered an abundance of modern disturbance on the site from cutting and infill deposits as well as general ground contamination. Despite the Cromlet Park area being a part of the wider prehistoric and medieval landscape of Invergordon, the potential for archaeological survival was poor and no such features of archaeological significance were found within the site. <1>
