Technique(s)

Organisation

AOC Archaeology Group

Date

April 2021

Description

An archaeological trial trenching evaluation was undertaken by AOC Archaeology Group in 2021 at Dores Church. The works were required in order to establish the presence or absence of burials at the site, within an area not demarcated as part of the associated graveyard. Four trenches were excavated, within which twenty grave cuts were identified, four of which contained preserved human bone. A possible cremation burial was also encountered. All human remains were left in-situ and safeguarded under reinstated trenches. <1>
