EHG650 - Lairg, water mains renewal (part)

Technique(s)

Organisation

Janet Hooper

Date

19 February 2002

Description

The archaeological assessment comprised a desk-top study and a walkover survey. Numerous archaeological sites - ranging from hut circles and field systems of Bronze or Iron Age date to the remains of crofting settlements of the nineteenth century - were recorded along the line of the water mains. Recommendations have been proposed for ways in which the rehabilitation of the water mains on the archaeological resource can be alleviated.
