Date

02 April 2002

Description

An archaeological watching brief was conducted suring topsoil stripping in advance of the construction of the new A830 Arisaig to Kinsadel road. There is a low level of archaeological remains in the area monitored, probably due to the nature of the terrain. A small number of isolated features were identified near the 19th century settlement Achraig. The finds recovered show there is no evidence for settlement before the 19th century, which supports the results obtained during the previous evaluation of the area. <1> The excavation assemblage was submitted to Treasure Trove (TT 113/05) and allocated to Inverness Museum. <2> <3>
