Full Description

NC60NW 43 6110 0975.

At NC 6110 0975 there is a hut circle, mutilated by forestry ploughing, on formerly turf and heather-covered ground. It measures 10.5m N-S by 9.5m within a wall spread to 3.0m and 0.5m high internally. Exposed by the plough just outside the hut wall on the S side, where the entrance probably occurred there is a collection of small stones, some friable, which are probably pot-boilers. To the S of centre within the hut are a group of stones or slabs, possibly the remains of a hearth or boiling pit, though the stones show no sign of burning. There is no evidence of field clearance in the vicinity.
