(Centred NC 603 075) Tumuli (NR)
OS 6"map, Sutherlandshire, 1st ed., (1873)

A group of about fourteen mounds. One or two are higher and more pointed than usual being about 3ft high.
RCAHMS 1911, visited 1909.

Grass-covered, stony mounds which appear to be stone clearance heaps. Revised at 1/2500.
Visited by OS (W D J) 28 June 1963.

The group comprises about twenty to twenty-five clearance heaps of a type normally found in association with hut circles.
The area SE of the track was cultivated in early modern times with the remains of a longhouse and field banks surviving. Some of the large heaps here are possibly contemporary with the latter, or are enchanced prehistoric heaps. No hut circles are evident.
Visited by OS (J B) 8 October 1980.
