Full Description

Centred at NH 540 351 on an E-facing slope are two stone-walled huts (A & B) with a field system.
'A', set into the slope, is mutilated; it measures about 13.0m E-W by about 11.0m between the centres of a wall spread to about 2.5m in the N and to an indeterminate width elsewhere. The entrance is not evident. 'B' set into the slope, is ill-defined. It measures about 12.5m NW-SE by about 10.5m between the centres of a wall of indeterminate width. The simple entrance is in the SE.

The "huts" seen on A P's are fortuitous natural peat formations.(Visible on RAF air photographs CPE/Scot/UK/ 296: 3080-1)

The field system is marked by stone clearance heaps and occasional lynchets, with fields varying between 30.0m and 15.0m by 10.0m.
Surveyed at 1/2500.
Visited by OS (A A) 5 May 1970

Hut circle at NH 5408 3515 has been destroyed by forestry planting. Information from OS field surveyor 28 April 1988.
