This disused quarry is situated on the steep E flank of the Hill of Ulbster some 550m NNW of Mains of Ulbster farmsteading (ND34SW 258). Roughly oval on plan, the pit is largely obscured by gorse, heather and rushes, but it measures about 6.2m from NNW to SSE by 4.3m transversely and has been dug into the slope on the W to a depth of 1m.
