189017 882534 Coille Eagasgarg 1 MB001: The hut circle was visited by J Buchanan in 2010 as part of research for a dissertation on hut circles in Wester Ross for A Welti. His circular stone structure seems to be part of a group of 7, MB001, (see MHG49734) MB002 (see MHG49735), MB003 (see MHG7749), MB004 (see MHG57301), MB005 (see MHG57302), MB006 (see MHG57303) and MB007 (see MHG57304). It is situated on a gentle SE facing slope, 20m NW of a forestry fence with a stream 30m beyond. There are wide views inland from the site. The platform is dug into and built out from the slope. Average inner diameter is 10.25m, outer diameter is 13m. The double skinned wall is 1m thick with maximum height 1m. Very large boulders were used in the construction. The entrance cannot be discerned. The eastern edge of the hut circle has been robbed out - this is possibly where the entrance was. Bracken and moss has engulfed the walling. MB002 is 200m distant, MB003 is 400m distant, MB006 is 400 m distant. <2> <3>
