Full Description

A degraded stone structure at Knockfin.

A ruinous stone structure (Site 21) at Knockfin was recorded in 2004 during a walkover survey at Knockfin by Archaeological and Ancient Landscape Survey for the Forestry Commission Scotland. Lying on a natural terrace, just to the SW of an open ride, is a ruinous structure, with rounded external corners, which measures 8 meters long by 4.5 meters wide over walls which still stand to over 1 metre high and are 600mm thick. A well preserved door opening 800mm wide lies in the centre of the NW facing long wall. <1>
