189129 891317 Laide Wood 7 JAN011: The hut circle was visited by A MacInnes in 2013 as part of research on hut circles in Wester Ross for A Welti. This circular HC sits on a very gentle grassy slope with SE aspect. The platform is built out from the slope. The HC is substantial. Both inner and outer wall facing stones are large. Many massive stones and boulders are visible. Details of the entrance are obscured by a later wall overlying it. Average internal diameter is 10.1m, external diameter is 13.4m. The double skinned wall is 1.6m thick, max height 0.6m. The probable entrance faces SE. No measurements of its width were possible. The HC is 700m N of a cluster of 6 HCs, JMC001 (see MHG58069), JMC002 (see MHG58070), JMC003 (see MHG58071), JMC004 (see MHG58072), JMC005 (see MHG58073) and JM006 (see MHG58074). <1> <2>
