Full Description

Medieval copper-alloy shield-shaped harness pendant with heraldic arms. The arms are Chequy, but no trace of enamelling or gilding/silvering survives.
Claimed as Treasure Trove (TT 159/17) and allocated to the National Museums of Scotland. <1>

Information from the Treasure Trove database describes a shield shaped Cu alloy harness pendant with suspension loop. The front is decorated with a check pattern, the raised parts have been painted red. Plain on the back. Length (incl. loop) 28mm, width 15mm. <2>

Four figure grid reference given is marginal. A full GR for the harness pendant is held by Treasure Trove. GW 24/07/20
