Full Description

A Roman copper alloy coin discovered during metal detecting was submitted to TT (TT 14/19). It was worn but complete. The condition of the coin is poor, with only part of the bust visible on the obverse and the legs of the horse on the reverse resulting in a tentative type identification: Obv. […] E…M […] Bust of Trajan, r., very worn but possibly laureate. Rev. S - C in exergue. Horse, r, with front legs off the ground, with a rider (Trajan?). It was allocated to Inverness Museum but this needs confirming. See attached TT report for photo. <1> <2>
