Full Description

A small bronze ingot was discovered metal detecting and submitted to Treasure Trove (TT 22/12). It is of unusual form, with a inverted bathtub-profile and measuring 53m in length and 12mm in thickness. Ingots of this type are commonly Bronze or Iron Age but the inclusion of zinc in the bronze would indicated a Roman or later date. It was allocated to Groam House Museum. See attached TT report for futher details and photo. <1> <2>
