Full Description

NH66NE 4 6820 6651.
Cairn (NR). OS 6" map, (1959)

A turf-covered, roughly oval cairn, measuring 41' N-S by 32' E-W, and standing 2' high, with a noticeable depression towards S end.
The ONB (1871) noted that the cairn had been partially opened.
Name Book 1871; A A Woodham 1956.

This cairn was completely removed in Spring of 1965 by the farmer of Mid Ferryton (Info from Mr Mathieson, Farmer, Mid Ferryton, Ferryton). A slight depression in the ground at the published site now marks the former position of the cairn. No finds were made during the removal.
Revised at 1/2500. Visited by OS (R B) 14 January 1966.
