Full Description

A ground and polished axe was found during building works at this site. It is 11cm long 6.4cm wide at the blade, tapering to 1cm at the butt, with a maximum thickness of 3.6cm. Retained by finder.
D Vass and G Harden 1986.

This axehead is within the collection of Tain Museum. It is described as made from quartzite. See attached photo. <1>
