The former post office at Ardgay

Still in use as PO & store on main road. Sandstone etc. But to rear, extra floor (see photo) and large ranges of prefabricated extensions - HAW 6/2004

In 2014 ARCH provided a number of courses, field trips and other activities exploring and researching the remains of the 19th century engineer, road and church builder Thomas Telford. A project was undertaken in Kyle of Sutherland, during which many sites, not all related to Telford, were visited and photographed by participants. Ardgay Post Office is depicted on the on the 2nd edition OS map situated to the east of the main road and to the west of the station. It does not appear on the 1st ed map. The building is currently a shop. <1>
