Full Description

Originally built as an extension to an existing cottage, these baths were believed to have originally been used as sea-water baths. They were constructed between 1899 and 1906. Between 1954 and 1973, it appears the original cottage that appears on the 1872 OS Map was demolished. From 1954 onwards, the building had a number of uses: a garage (this could explain the later large apertures to the east elevation), a games room for the hotel which gave access to a putting green on the lower garden terrace, and a store. In the late 1980's/ early 1990's the property was converted to its current use (as a restaurant) and the addition of entrance porch extension was made by the original owners. <1>
