Full Description

Two undated four-post structures were exposed during excavation by Headland Archaeology in 2005 at Culduthel. Structure 24 was oriented north-south and measured 2m across. One posthole contained disturbed packing stones, another heat-fractured stone. Structure 25 was oriented northeast-southwest and measured 2.5m across, with its postholes spaced further apart than those in structure 24. The function of these structures was unclear and it was considered possible that they were the remnants of larger structures or enclosures. <1>

Further analysis and final dating of the finds assemblage and site are general are awaited.
