Full Description

A walkover survey was carried out by John Wombell, Anne Coombs and other members of the North of Scotland Archaeological Society (NOSAS) in April 2013 over 2.5 days of an area of Dirr Wood near Dorres. This investigation was carried out to try and put the then recently discovered late Bronze Age hoard at Dores into context with potential sites in the surrounding landscape. Two linear clearance cairns located in immediate proximity to each other, both measuring approximately 4m in length and 1m in width [Feature numbers LL/F49 and LL/F48]. This site was of an unknown date. <1>
