Description

Archaeological building recording and a trial trenching evaluation was undertaken in advance of construction of a house at Brickigoe Croft, Thrumster, Caithness, in response to a planning condition. It proved necessary to vary the trench plan from that initially proposed owing to the waterlogged nature of part of the site, but it did not prevent a full evaluation. No archaeological features were found apart from details of the three buildings on site. Of these, building 1 appeared to be the earliest. All are likely to be of 19th-century date. <1>
