EHG4336 - DBA and walkover survey - proposed Strath Brora Wind Farm, Sutherland
Technique(s)
Organisation
Headland Archaeology Ltd
Date
June 2003
Description
A DBA and walkover survey was carried out by Headland Archaeology in June 2003 in advance of a proposed wind farm development scheme at Strath Brora, Sutherland. A total of 87 sites were identified: no SAMs or LBs or other scheduled sites were located within the 50m buffer of the wind turbines, although several were identified outwith this area but still within a visual impact zone of the development. It was considered that the careful and due consideration of positioning would present an acceptable level of impact (although potentially still of moderate to major) on the understanding of the local Bronze Age agricultural landscape. <1>
