Description
Highland Archaeology Services Ltd, acting on behalf of Scottish and Southern Energy (SSE) undertook archaeological watching briefs at Loch Achonachie, Ross-shire in 2014 during works related to the Beauly-Mossford OHL replacement project in the area of Towers 61-63. Two phases of work were undertaken: a watching brief during construction of a new access tracks between towers 61 and 63 (10/01/2014) and a watching brief during groundwork preparations for the construction of the new tower 64 (21/07/2014) which involved the excavation of four trenches, each 4.5m². No archaeological features or artefacts were found during fieldwork. <1>
The works are included in a report providing an overview of the whole Beualy-Mossford OHL project. <2>
