Date

Description

An archaeological field evaluation, including a metal detecting survey, was carried out by West Coast Archaeological Services in 2023 in advance of the erection of a new cabin and associated services on land 15m SW of Rowan Bank, South Laggan, near Spean Bridge, in Lochaber. The work was undertaken to assess the nature and extent of any archaeological finds, features or deposits likely to be affected within the areas outlined for development and to inform recommendations for further archaeological input or mitigation measures to enable the management and protection of any features or deposits uncovered. No archaeological features were recorded and the only finds recovered included modern nails, silver foil (modern) and one sherd of post-medieval ceramic. <1>
