EHG6507 - Walkover survey - MeyGen onshore, Gills Bay
Technique(s)
Organisation
ORCA
Date
2012
Description
A walkover survey and additional assessment was undertaken by ORCA in 2012 to inform an addendum to the onshore cultural heritage section of an environmental statement for the the proposed MeyGen Tidal Energy Project – Phase 1 (see EHG3158 for the original work). The work was required in response to the alterations to the proposed onshore cable route made following completion of the ES in response to land owner consultations.
The addendum included an update of the baseline information covering the amended onshore cable route and an assessment of potential impacts of the amended onshore cable route on onshore cultural heritage assets. Any changes to the original impact assessment that would be required as a result of the altered cable route were also noted. The addendum did not include any updates to the assessment parameters (other than changes to the onshore cable route) or the legislative framework or regulatory context previously presented. The amended areas were found to contain no identified significant sites, only assets of negligible and low significance. <1>
