Technique(s)
Organisation

Date
April 2002
Description
A walkover survey was carried out by Headland Archaeology in April 2002 in advance of a bridge replacememnt at Lairig Eilde, Glen Coe. There were no known archaeological sites within the area, but a group of WW2 pillboxes had been recorded roughly 1 km to the west of the area. Thirteen features were recorded during the walkover survey, most of which dated to the 20th century: one roofed bothy, one unroofed bothy, four WW2 pillboxes and four modern cremation burials. Two cairns and an old road were identified which were suggested as of an earlier date. <1> <2>
