What may be an unroofed shieling-hut is depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Sutherland 1879, sheet lxxii), but is not shown on the current edition of the 1:10,000 map (1993).
Information from RCAHMS (SAH) 14 September 1995
This site was visited during walkover survey. This site is now submerged under the raised water level of Loch Shin. Although recorded on the 1st edition OS map as a single small unroofed building, it is possible that there was a larger settlement here, as Burnett and Scott’s map of 1831-2 records the place name Garvie at this location. Place names generally refer to settlements rather than topographical features. <1>
