A DBA and walkover survey was carried out by RPS Consultants in July 2006 in advance of a proposed wind farm development near Spittal, Caithness.

Site 8: A T-shaped longhouse croft with the main living accommodation orientated N-S with the main doorway in the east side and flues in both gable ends. The main building partially survived to gable height and was 11 m by 5 m. Construction is in Caithness slab with small alcoves present on the internal gable ends and embrasured windows. The ancillary building was less well preserved, being only visible in outline. <1>

NGR adjusted based on 1999-2001 vertical aerial photographs. <2>
