A farmstead comprising two unroofed buildings beside a field is depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Sutherland 1878, sheet lxx). One unroofed building of four compartments and some field walls are shown on the current edition of the OS 1:10,000 (1992).

An archaeological desktop and walkover survey were undertaken by Historic Assynt in 2015 in an area of proposed woodland expansion in Glencanisp, Lochinver, Sutherland.

Site 14: Bad na h'Achlaise; FCS category B. An extensive area of enclosed and improved land on a series of terraces rising to the south. The lowest area to the north is now largely marsh but signs of cultivation strips are visible. The higher terraces bounded by NC 12296 21199 to the north, NC12231 21100 to the west and by NC 12297 20978. to the south are clearly marked as a shieling divided into two main enclosures on Home's map. There are two farmsteads (sites 15 & 16) associated with this land. <1>
