Full Description
A shieling hut adjacent to the Abhainn Choisleader, Skye.
Contained within a loop of the Abhainn Choishleadar at a height of 140m OD are the ruins of a shieling, of the single cell type, reduced to a low turf mound with a circular depression in the top.
Information from R Miket, October 1989.
The site was subsequently visited and recorded during a walkover survey by Archaeological and Ancient Landscape Survey in 2001 in advance of the proposed Edinbane Wind Farm development.
Site W: Lying on the west bank of the Abhainn Choisleader is a low turf mound with a circular hollow in it’s top. Probably a single cell shieling. <1>
