Full Description

A small group of shieling huts adjacent to the Abhainn Choisleader, Skye.

On a marshy shelf formed by an old loop of the Abhainn Choishleadar, at about 136m OD is a group of 3 ruined shielings. They are of single and twin-cell types, reduced to turf ring-mounds with collapsed internal facings. A short length of turf and stone bank protects the most northerly of the group from floods.
Information from R Miket, October 1989.

The site was subsequently visited and recorded as 'Site X' during a walkover survey by Archaeological and Ancient Landscape Survey in 2001 in advance of the proposed Edinbane Wind Farm development. <1> [The description in the report repeats word-for-word the description given by Miket in 1989.]
