Full Description

A series of six fields, associated with the settlement of Srath Shuardail, are depicted on Alexander Langland's plan of 1815 (numbers 36 to 41). The two northernmost fields are unenclosed and depicted as green pasture. The other four are enclosed and marked as arable ground. The boundaries, and in some cases the furrows of these are visible from the air. These fields are very difficult to distinguish on the ground owing to the hummocky and marshy terrain. The two northernmost fields will be impacted by a storage pond related to the proposed hydro scheme. <1>
